New Policy School - Call for Applications
22. 6. 2010. The Youth Initiative for Human Rights (YIHR) hereby announces Call for Applications for enrollment of the fourth generation of New Policy School (NPS) students, which is to commence in late September 2010.The school is intended for students of social sciences, young lawyers, journalists, political parties’ youth, as well as activists of civil society organizations. Our lecturers are eminent professors from Serbia and the region, human rights activists, ambassadors with work experience in the Balkans, as well as experts in the domains of transitional justice and euro-integration.
NPS students are required to attend all lectures and seminars organized in the course of two semesters (eight months total).
Eight-month school is divided into three modules (thematic units):
1) Human Rights
2) Transitional Justice
3) Euro-Integration
The school will be implemented in Belgrade, Niš and Novi Sad. In each of these cities 20 selected candidates will be delivered three-hour lectures per week. Seminars will be organized after all lectures under each module have been delivered.
New Policy School students are required to write academic paper and policy paper to a topic chosen under a module. Papers are developed in cooperation with mentors. The best papers will be published in a collection of papers by New Policy School Alumni.
Candidates from Vojvodina will be attending lectures in Novi Sad, candidates from the South of Serbia in Niš, while candidates from Belgrade and surrounding area will be attending lectures in Belgrade. YIHR shall reimburse travel costs to students residing outside of the city in which NPS is being implemented.
The following is required to apply:
1) Motivation Letter which should contain information about you, your current occupation and experience to date. It should also present to the Selection Committee your objectives and motives to apply for NPS, as well as your expectations as an NPS student.
2) Two Recommendation Letters by persons you cooperated with, whether from a political party/organization or your professors (authentically signed letters of recommendation including telephone number and e-mail address of the persons recommending you)
3) Completed questionnaire which may be downloaded here (in Serbian).
